I thought, for all of us finishing off Week 3 of Blogging 101…well actually anyone embracing blogging, this article is very timely. Thought I would share.

  1. I have found writing and journaling for the last ten years very helpful in working through depression and other problems. Sometimes it is easier to see the ways we are holding ourselves back when we put our thoughts into writing. Thanks for sharing an interesting article.

    1. Yes indeed, so true. And then there is the ‘figuring things out’ part of sitting down with pen and paper in hand. Many times it is so good to put an issue into words, write out all of the available options, choices, and possible outcomes…and after letting it marinate awhile…a good decision is made.

I thank you, Kim, for your comments.

  2. I believe we are raised up to see being self-absorbed and self-indulgent as very negative things.
The phrase, ‘How may I serve?’ kind of sums up how we are suppose to feel about our planet walk. At some point last year it occurred to me that it did not always mean having to serve others, or having to set our own creativity aside. And if I were going to write anything in this lifetime I better get a move on, as this body I dwell in has a shelf life. I am making a very serious effort to embrace my own creativity and decide based what I truly want during this year. It will be interesting to see how it shakes out. And I hope a whole lot of fun!

  3. That’s an interesting article, thank you for sharing! Part of me always feels so self-indulgent, self-absorbed, when I write about my life/problems. This article makes me feel that there might be value in it, even if just for my self-improvement.
