Signs                   DSCN0181

And the sign said,”Long-haired freaky people need not apply”
So I tucked my hair up under my hat and I went in to ask him why
He said, “You look like a fine upstanding DSCN0182young man, I think you’ll do”
So I took off my hat, I said, “Imagine

that, huh, me workin’ for you”
Whoa, oh, oh

DSCN0205Sign, sign, everywhere a sign
Blockin’ out the scenery, breakin’ my mind
Do this, don’t do that, can’t you read the sign?

DSCN0218DSCN0223And the sign said, Anybody caught trespassin’ would be shot on sight
So, I jumped on the fence and-a yelled at the house
“Hey, what gives you the right?
To put up a fence to keep me out or to keep mother nature in
If God was here, He’d tell you to your face, man, you’re some kinda sinner”

Sign, sign, everywhere a sign
DSCN0222Blockin’ out the scenery, breakin’ my mind
Do this, don’t do that, can’t you read the sign?

Now, hey you, Mister, can’t you read?
DSCN0229You’ve got to have a shirt and tie to get a seat
You can’t even watch, no you can’t eat
You ain’t supposed to be here
DSCN0231The sign said, You got to have a membership card to get inside, ugh

And the sign said, “Everybody welcome, come in, kneel down and pray”
But when they passed around the plate at the end of it all
DSCN0237I didn’t have a penny to pay
So, I got me a pen and a paper and I made up my own little sign
I said, “Thank you, Lord, for thinkin’ ’bout me, I’m alive and doin’ fine, woo

And finally Home!

Five days, 2, 240 miles  and we were home! It was no scenic trip, just a straight pleasant five days of travel  to meet up with Atlas Movers to put our stuff into storage.

  1. Wow, that’s some trip. Where did you start and finish? Living on this little island – a four hour drive to Scotland is my idea of a long car journey 🙂 Best wishes on this new phase in your journey of life. x

    1. Small village on eastern coast of United States across country to Arizona. The irony of this is that I have made such a noise about ridding myself of stuff, but we did this drive straight and quick because we had to catch up with the moving company that had our remaining stuff, as they would not put it into storage without us being present.

Your website just keeps getting more thoughtful, attractive, and interesting. I am enjoying it so much.

    1. Hi Donna. Thanks for stopping by. You are so blessed with the location of your cabin. It really is just such a gorgeous area. ‘Soulful’ is the word that always come to my mind. That slow and gentle way the morning mists disappear…the density of the woods in some places..That deep quiet of hearing only birds and your own footsteps.

      1. Agree. We spend the winters up there from October to February to be in the snow. We live at the beach and never get to see the white stuff or the feel the really cold temps, but a quick 5 hours away – it’s fireplace time.
