“I’d rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints.”
― Billy Joel
Whenever we need to run away, Negril is our go to place. Always in the ‘off’ season for tourists, never at one of the many all inclusive gated resorts that make it famous/infamous. No, we stay far up on the Cliffs, where Negril goes quiet. We do just about nothing while we are there, stay for extended periods, and embrace Negril as she embraces us. Negril is a state of mind as much as a place. People have harsh and soft opinions about Negril, the harsh ones usually come from people who have heard, but never actually visited there. For many years Negril has welcomed us with excellent food, gracious people, charming lodging, dancing music, and clean water to snorkel in.
Have a safe and peaceful weekend.
Today’s Music…just has to be : Bob Marley,

What beautiful pictures! Looks like a nice way to get away from it all!

I find it is always that last page is the important one. Where the possibility of speaking my truth emerges.

This looks heavenly, have been to the Caribbean many years ago, St. Lucia, Barbados, and The British Virgin Islands, but have never been to Negril. Hope one day I’ll manage to revisit….

Have good memories of St Lucia, would like to go to Barbados. The Caribbean is very often an acquired taste, and if you lined up a thousand people who had been to the same area, each would tell of a very different experience. It is as though those beautiful clear waters, the people, and the sunshine are actually mirrors reflecting back on us who we are.
Thank you so much for the follow.

You put it so eloquently, yes the Caribbean is an acquired taste but one I have very fond memories of. It’s a pleasure to discover and follow your blog. Thanks for following Kyrosmagica too. 🙂

It’s so nice to have a place to get away from it all, but I’ll have to go to Google to find out where Nebril is! (Just spotted it’s in the Carribean?)

Your wonderful photos remind me of how much I love the Carribean. And it isn’t even remotely cold yet here in Philly.

I saved the directions for creating a gallery b/c I don’t do it often enough to remember. This was great, JoHanna.

Indeed, I still do best with paper on printed word, so have quite a fat notebook of ‘how to’ for the website.
It’s a kind of magic how this all works. A magic who’s spells I am committed to learning one at a time.
