You have presented a lovely collection of photos, thoughts and beliefs. I hope one day our world can all get on a Prayer Wheel which accepts various faiths and philosophies. Walking together and working on the same goals of love and peace. . . I liked the Elk Song here and also the Pink Floyd song previous post, JoHanna. Now, on to our busy days. . .

I honestly had to read the quote a couple times. A penetrating observation with beautiful pictures to accompany it JoHanna.

Definitely not a Greeting Card quote.
John Muir’s words are so relevant to the feeling I would get way up in the midst of ‘nowhere’ in Oregon. Not only did all the flora, fauna, wildlife, insects, mineral, and weather components of nature appear to be one glorious interconnected living thing, but the peace and harmony of this beautiful undisturbed collaboration was a consciousness game changer for me.
And always good for a laugh were the forms and formalities of the inventories we were doing that carefully segregated and separated every species, often leaving out some, including others, and attempting to reduce the wildness of ‘nowhere’ to number crunched recommendations for management.

The quote is certainly one to quote. A recent read for me was “The Wild Muir: Twenty-Two of John Muir’s Greatest Adventures.” They are short enough to be excellent bed time stories.

Oh I will look that up especially if it’s inspiring bed time reading. Can’t go to sleep with detective fiction anymore!

I usually have several books stacked next to the bed I am involved with. Definitely leaning towards a variety of ‘shorts’ collections for bedtime reading. Just began The Norton Book of Women’s Lives edited by Phyllis Rose. It’s a fat Anthology of of excerpts from twentieth-century memoirs, journals, and autobiographies of women.

Yes, shorts are good. I am going to listen to some too now I have audible!
