Not to waste time on nonsense.
Not to be taken in by conjurors
And hoodoo artists with their talk
About incantations and exorcism
And all the rest of it.
Not to be obsessed with quail-fighting
Or other crazes like that.
When the warning call sounds, the young hurry to get beneath their mother for portection.
The young must be able to daily reach of fresh water.
This particular family of Quail is headed by a single parent.
Parent steps away.
Out and about with siblings in the big Arizona sky.
Each one snaps to attention.
Quails camouflage themselves bu blending in.
In barely discernable formation they run..
To join safely back with their parent. At night the young quail will once again gather beneath the adults and in hush whispers share their stories of the days adventures.
